Been too long baby...

Post by CodyValkyrie »

Decided to take the B-17G out for a spin in California. Fittingly ended it at Hiller Aviation at San Carlos Airport. Runway was a bit tight, as I carried a bit too much speed coming in, but I got her down fine. I forgot what a wonderfully coded bird this was. What immersion! Glad to have some time with her this evening. It's still odd to hear myself as the copilot.

On the way to San Carlos. I'm navigating via NDB, which was easy enough. There was a patch from Lake Tahoe inbound that I had no NDB signal, but I just put her on heading and timed it. No biggie.

I think that's a great place to park, don't you?

Been flying her quite a bit the last few weeks. Always a pleasure.

It's still odd to hear myself as the copilot

So you are the one yelling at me when I make a rough landing.

That would be the case my friend. ;)

Nice to be acquainted with her again.

Nice pics. San Carlos is always a nice place to take a trip to. I love Monterey Regional as well. Monterey is a great piece of ORBX scenery; it kind of completes the San Francisco area scenery.

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!

I always wondered if the guys that supplied the voices for the b17 and the b377 found it weird to hear themselves in the plane.

True, and true. I've never been comfortable in front of a camera, but I've done enough voice work that it's become much easier and natural. Still, when you hear yourself, it always gives you pause.
