Pirated copy to legit copy issues

Post by afcraig2010 »

My friend had a pirated version of the B-17 and a while ago I got him to actually buy it. After uninstalling the B-17 and installing the legit version (P3D 2.4) it still wasn't working. Now we've reinstalled everything to get to P3D 2.5 and it still acts up. Is there anything he can do to make it work?

How is it acting up?

Also remember it is an FSX model not a P3D simulation, so it may have issues.

thanks,

I figured you'd bring up the P3D point, but aside from that, there was one time where he selected flaps down and the plane immediately and the airspeed went to zero. There are other instances that I can't remember, but it just doesn't seem right. It's probably the anti piracy code still working on it.

It could also be the P3D thing, contray to popular belief the platforms are separate and what works on one may or may not work on another. This is why P3D has its own SDK, its own formats and also over time has evolved beyond total compatibility to all FSX models.

Does "your friend," have fsx? I'd try installing the legit copy in fsx and see if it still acts squirrely

Yea that's what I was thinking. He does have FSX. Does the B17 work well in steam edition?

Yup sure does.

Also if he went the pirate root who knows what files he was using previously and what the original pirate put in there extra or malware etc.
