If you want a late B-17F, then just repaint the B-17G. The last few blocks of B-17F had the Cheyenne tail, the offset nose cheek guns, chin turret, and even the revised panel. No one I have read is 100% sure what exactly caused the change to B-17G other than there was apparently a decision to take all the ad-hoc modifications and make them "standard" to the model thus needing a new variant designation.

Can't speak for the other guy, but basically the whole goal of the exercise of getting an -F was to loose the chin turret...plus it would have been good to have an unarmed variant (all turrets faired over).

But since the -F is "vastly different", how about just putting out a -G with no chin turret? (I know..."its not fully accurate..."). True...but this is a game.

'Course, you know me, I'm just an evil soul trying to tatoo A2As baby...

Don't get me wrong Chris, "as-is"' the B-17G STILL rocks... And I REALLY like the "heavy iron" feel of this airplane. As a result, I would love to see them do a B-29 or B-24...

Might as well have this option while you're screwing up the model:
