The Lacey Lady B-17

Post by Edmeister »

I was looking at the June issue of "Hemmings Motor News" and I ran across an article about the "Lacy Lady" B-17 bomber. Apparently
Art Lacey bet a friend five bucks that he could purchase a WWII surplus airplane, fly it to Oregon (where his business is located). To make a long story short he got the plane (a B-17) flew it home and put it on top of his restaurant. Lacey's Bomber Restaurant in
Milwaukie, Oregon. Now the Lacey family has decided to remove the plane from the top of the restaurant and restore it. You can
read the article in the June 2018 issue of "Hemmings Motor News", pages 66 and 67 under the heading, Wings, Rails and Keels. There
is a website you can visit at www.b17alliance.com to make a tax deductible donation if you wish.
