Are you having trouble hearing the music? There is more than music, as well. Some portions of historic addresses, some news reports...
If the radio officer says there is something on the radio, you need to be on the "liaison" channel (I think), set by moving a selector on the radio control to your lower left. (if I'm wrong, you can find which channel it is by moving the selector to each channel in turn until you hear the broadcast)
The inclusion of these radio broadcast snippets is, I think, pure genius. They are entertaining, informative and immersive. I really miss this aircraft in P3D4!
