is this really just a matter of trying?

I mean, the effect position for the existing 2d-Lights (the bright stars) have to be listed somewhere...I think :D

thanks in advance....

Quickest way is to use the existing coordinates in the config file.

I know this but the lights-Section in aircraft.cfg doesn't seem to hold every effects seen on the plane, for example on my captain sim 727 there are just entries for "landing lights" which are actually the reflections at the fuselage. All the other lights, nav, strobe, beacon as well as the real landing light, are not listed there. which is the case with most addon planes....

What I do is, I find a aircraft similar to the one I am configing that has already been configed with shockwave to get some sort of reference just to get in to the ball park, then I adjust side to side up or down and fit it that way has worked for me
