Two successes!

Post by Mickel »

Well... I've finally managed to start the thing. An embarrassingly obvious oversight on my part was stopping it all happening. I went through a phase of just letting the FE do it, but decided enough was enough and I had to work it out. Next I'll have to start running the turbos.

And I got two rounds of applause in a row on night landings.

Nice work. That is a hard aircraft to land.

Keep smiling

Well done mate. Remember you can try the guppy if you want to get used to the plane without turbos or pressurisation to begin with and then step up to the 377.

Keep touchdown below 100 fpm and you will get applause every time.

Funny thing is I found if I focused on the VS I'd make a bigger mess of the landing than I if I just looked out the window and landed the damn thing - especially at places like Midway where the runway length is getting a bit more marginal. So I don't focus on the 100 fpm at all any more.
