I think maybe we're ready to get the scoop on the addons stuff that works well and improves the 2.06.

I dl th e SummerTerrain, but I haven't done the FarTiles.bin. I've been waiting to read more about it.

Anyway, it would be nice to get an update from others along with recommendations.

Actually, nearmiss, the FarTiles thing for the Summer Terrain became a bit confusing. It looked, to the casual observer, like you needed to do something complicated.
But in truth you only need to unzip a few files to get the SummerTerrain, no need to generate the FatTiles yourself- they're included now.

DOWNLOAD (33M):

Good idea on the updates though- the 5 page mods thread has become unwieldy.

I've DL the SummerTerrain the latest version 33MB so I guess the fartiles are there. Honestly, I didn't see changing things with the SummerTerrain. Everything looked fine to me. - Little did I know LOL

Thanks for your response

To compliment Stickmans work, a conversion manual for IL-2 pilots to convert onto BoBII more easily....
Dedicated BoBII pilots will find it very useful too
Taken from it's main thread:

To tie in with the release of the (BETA) 2.07-12 version of BoBII, please find below a link to download a FULLY UPDATED version on the BoBII/IL2 conversion manual.
This features new additions on the key command descriptions, plus 9 new pages focusing on the brand new ability to assign key commands to interactive cockpit controls through the key mapping window in the GUI (magnetos, fuel cocks, ignition etc), how to set up keys, plus details, illustrations and "keypress-by-keypress" notes on the features this now adds to each aircraft type should the player wish to use them.

This thread needs some editing. I will take the opportunity afforded by having a post here to try to update a few things.
First, the links above may still work, but at some point they won't, as they are old shockwaveproductions.com links.
If you find them broken, replace "shockewaveproductions" with "a2asimulations".

Also, the current manual version as of this edit is the v2.10 edition, but we may have a v2.13 version out within the next year.
The manual can be downloaded independent of the game, from this link: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 64#p101264

I'm putting this post here so I can find this item again easily (perhaps I'll add some more in future, if it occurs to me). This is a link to the thread describing GlobalExplorer's GIS intelligent searchable BoB2 world map system: http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... =10&t=8866

BoB2 GIS Campaign Map - Version 1.00 seems to be gone...does anyone know if it is located anywhere else? sounds like a great aide.

Chris,

Here are the files:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7i9g9wim6239ccd

Download and Install Tatuk GIS Viewer (free) first:
http://www.tatukgis.com/Downloads/Trial ... iewer.aspx

You can edit the layers within the Viewer. I had some fun with this awhile back, but lost my edited version.
