Now available online here: several extensive USAAF P-47 training films, c. 1943. A hat tip to David Wilson-Okamura for a Sim Outhouse post that pointed the way to the main posting by the great James Fallows of The Atlantic (an avid pilot)... and to PublicResource.org for making them available in the first place.
