I have seen several references to changing the resoluion to 4096 in FSX. But I am not finding a graphics folder to modify.
I have FSX with acceleration pack running Vista Ultimate in 64 bit. Can someone run me down the path to what I need to change?

Thanks,

Long story short, you don't need to change anything with your a2a planes because they don't use mip maps.

They talk about it here (last few posts) in the Cub forum...
http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=19323

and here on Avsim...
http://forum.avsim.net/topic/295921-texture-max-load-has-nothing-to-do-with-texture-quality/

At least for your A2A aircraft (everything noted in your signature), mip-maps are not enabled, so they display at the highest resolution.

If you're talking about scenery, or mip-map enabled aircraft from other sources, then Thomas' method is the way to do it. Google "Texture_Max_Load" and you'll find myriad tips, suggestions, and theories about what it does and why.

I like the "Snafu" repaint he suggested, well worth the download in my opinion.

Happy new year.
