No its not what you think

When I pull the fuel cut-off the engine keep running for a while as expected as there are fuel in the lines etc...

However when I switch of fuel tank. top left by the wing, the engine die immediately. I still expect to also see fuel still being in the lines and the expect the engine to still run a bit.

What do I miss here?

That switch located near the wing is for your magnetos. It has nothing to do with fuel. When you turn that off you kill your magnetos, and thus the engine immediately.
