http://www.vanilladoll.xxx/content/Piper%20J-3_Cub_N1VD.zipThis is my first repaint. I'm passionate with flight simulation, and in particular the fantastic A2A planes (I own the Piper Cub, Civilian Mustang, and Spitfire). I'm also passionate with pin-up art, which I love to do. So I thought about combining my two loves and trying a repaint based on my art.
It's a fun, fantasy, light hearted paint, very much in line with the Piper Cub. Doesn't have any high pretentions. I hope you guys will enjoy it.

Also, a quick trick I thought mentioning juste in case. I realized that the alpha channel in the main texture represents the amount of reflection applied to the material. Problem is that if you leave it at that, your decals will come out washed out. It makes sense that a decal doesn't have reflectivity, so you can isolate the decals in your repaint and fill these areas in white in the alpha. No reflection will be applied to your decals and they'll pop out nicely on the plane. Here's what my alpha and texture look like on my main texture. Notice circled in red the white areas corresponding to the decals.

Next I want to do a slick and more edgy P-51 repaint, again based on my art.
Cheers!
