PC Upgrade (slightly) Leads to J-3 Cub Video

Post by Bruce66 »

Yes! I am now able to do Video Capture via a 'new' video card.

I was so excited I went straight into my FSX and started a J-3 flight to see how the new process would look and guess what happened?!?

Well, take a look for yourselves:

Ha Ha! I still have so much to learn!

Hope you enjoy!

Hi Bruce66,

That was unfortunate. I guess the water rudders were never raised after take off and in flight and this "flip" is a result of over correcting with the rudder pedals? Nice video btw, I totally enjoyed it!

Not quite. I am a bit spazzy on the rudders due to back problems. You hear the 'Whoops' as I accidentally push the water rudder full over instead of gently. Of course this causes the float to push down in front, it digs in and over I go!

Next time I landed a little slower and a little further out then waggled my water rudder gently to slow her down and I was OK.

Live and learn!

Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you liked it!

The video turned out pretty well. Did you use Nvidia Experience to record?

Glad you got a laugh.

I was, as usual, pretty annoyed at first. Obviously I'm trying to get it right in a video and it sucks to crash. But I like to try and see the funny side after analysing the video for my mistakes.

I hope you noticed and enjoyed the dramatic music as well.

Yes, poor Heidi, she deserved a better pilot!

Yes, Shadowplay. I found even with the new card the other popular capture programs would only get me 8 FPS in recording

I am running on a tight budget, kids cost a fortune and they come first, so I am squeezing whatever I can from this poor little computer.

But Shadowplay uses the card's memory leaving FSX to use the CPU so it's a good combination.

Still early days with this. I am sure I have much to learn. For example the file sizes are HUGE after capture ...so now time budgeting for editing is becoming an issue. I won't bore you......

I'll have to give ShadowPlay a go next time in stall a new drive. I found Nvidia Experience to be bloatware when it first came out and haven't installed it sense.

Thanks
