Is there any way to modify the Piper Cub config file to make a Flight1 GTN 750 work with a Piper Cub? Since the Cub doesn't have a battery, correct?, and no native navigation system I was wondering if anything could be done. I am able to load the Piper Cub with the Flight1 750 config tool and it does show up on screen when I load my plane in P3D but it will not turn on as it does with my A2A C172.
I was just wondering....
GTN 750 use with Piper Cub ?
Re: GTN 750 use with Piper Cub ?
I know this is an old thread, but I just bought the Flight1 GTN 750 and thought I'd see if I could get it working in the Cub just for Sh*ts n' giggles.
If you edit the config (after backing up the original) by changing "max_battery_voltage = 0" to "max_battery_voltage = 24.0", and adding the line "electric_always_available=1" it will get up and running for you.
Why you'd want to add a GPS to the Cub? No idea. But it can be done.
Edit. This is for FSX. I don't have P3D.

If your imaginary battery goes dead you might need to add something like.
max_generator_alternator_amps = 100
engine_generator_map = 1
so the whole thing would look like
max_generator_alternator_amps = 100
engine_generator_map = 1
so the whole thing would look like
Code: Select all
[electrical]
max_battery_voltage = 24.0
generator_alternator_voltage = 100
electric_always_available=1
max_generator_alternator_amps = 100
