Prop continues to spin

Post by gpf »

The Prop continues to spin on the Piper Cub when I shut of the mags and cut fuel. No engine, just a slow spin of the prop. This is new as it never happened before.

Hi,

First of all I suppose you're in the ground when you switch the engine off? What's the weather like when this happens? Is there a strong wind? That could possibly have a windmilling effect and drive the prop/engine!

on the ground. When I turn off the accusim, the prop stops. When I turn on the accusim, the prop begins to rotate.

What exactly do you mean by turn on/off the Accusim?

in the mini controls. You can toggle on or off accusim. If you turn off the mags, the engine will shut down but the prop will continue to rotate. Know if you select the mini controls under the view tab, select accusim off, the prop will stop. You than can turn on the accusim, and the prop will begin to spin again.

Oh I see. What's the wind speed when that happens? Does it happen all the time?

Ok. Did you run the latest updater? Has it always done this or has it started doing it after you changed something?

If this is just experienced in P3D, as I cannot re-produce in FSX, its just another example in how the two platforms are different. Whilst FSX aircraft may run in P3D, the two platforms are different and so any FSX aircraft in P3D should be treated as 'port overs' similar to the FS2004/FSX move. Nothing can be guaranteed to work in such a case.

thanks,
