I recently purchased the A2A Piper Cub with Accusim and Cub update V 1.1. The model is great and is perhaps the most realistic that there is, but after a random amount of time flying it (30 seconds to 1 hour) FSX freezes then states a fatal error has happened. Windows then tries to find a solution. Then FSX restarts. This does not happen with my other models. Computer is a high end Toshiba running MS Windows 7, 64 bit. Service packs 1&2 installed for FSX. Laptop has 6 gb ram, 2.2 ghz processor, 1 gb NVIDIA dedicated graphics card. I love flying the Cub, and A2A's model is the best. IMHO, this is what flying is all about, not some "heavy iron" behemoth loaded with complicated computer and flight systems! Any advice on how to fix my problem would be greatly appreciated.

My sound device drivers are all up to date. In one of my other posts I stated that this error only occurs when I click on a menu (options, view, etc) while flying. This error is also random, it might happen in a minute or not happen in a two hour flying session. Thanks.

I'll take a shot in the dark. Operating either Vista or Windows 7 in 64 bit?

[edit: yes, you are. This problem is associated with several faults caused by FSX itself, and it has very little to do with the Cub, but moreso the memory being chewed up. Scenery like Orbx and others can caused these types of issues. One way to assist is to often reduce your graphics slightly. Another is to change out drivers. Look for "FSX windows 7 crash" on Google. You'll get a ton of hits that describe similarly what you talk about and some fixes that work for people. Pete Dawson has also made a version of FSUIPC that cleans up a ton of .dll errors, which you might consider checking into.]

Thanks for the quick reply. Running MS Windows 7 64 bit. I'll check out Pete Dawson's FSUIPC site. Again, awesome job on the Cub. It would've been cool to see how you developed this model from start to finish!
