After many months of trouble-free flying the Spitfire (1.1 update), I finally got around to updating to the 1.2 level and all the spitfire models now have various parts missing!
The image below shows the MkIIb without undercarriage, tail wheel, spinner, flaps (they are selected down) and the pilot (aircraft is not in cold and dark state)! The IIa is the same and the Ia, at least, has the spinner!

Has anyone got any ideas on how to correct this?

I haven't seen this before!

I would try a reinstall first (looks like some textures may ahve been overrwritten..have you installed any new 3rd party stuff?) Make sure to back up your data files under C:\documents\A2A if you keep your airframe and engine hours figures.

If reinstall doesn't work, I would be looking at making sure your video drivers are up to date etc. Again, maybe a new 3rd party install has changed something.

Give it a try and let us know how you go,

Darryl

Are you using Ezdok by any chance? If so you need to open program and update aircraft in FSX, have to run it every time you either install or update an aircraft. That would fix the outside views if you use that progam.

Darryl, Thanks for the advice. My video drivers are up to date and the only add-ons that I've installed since 1.1 is Accufeel (switched off for the Accusim Spitfires) and EzDok, which has been working fine on all the 1.1 Accusim Spitfires for about 5 weeks.

I did back up all the A2A files prior to update and I've done a folder content comparison of the before and after and there doesn't seem to be any texture files missing or obviously changed in size!

I guess the only remaining option is to re-instal the whole lot. I presume that there is no need to apply the 1.1 update before 1.2!

I will report back when I've done that.
Thanks again
Ted

Mikenor: Sorry. We must have overlapped there! I've already started re-installing, so I'll remember to do what you say when the time comes. Thanks!

Darryl & Mikenor: Just reporting back. I re-installed the Spitfire + Accusim + 1.2 update and deliberately did not run the EZDok Config utility. Started FSX and loaded a Spitfire IIb and the problem was there. I then exited FSX and ran the EZDok Config and loaded FSX + Spit again and the problem was corrected! Yippee!

I hadn't appreciated that the 1.2 update had created new aircraft which EZDok would not "see". I still don't understand why that situation would make only some aircraft parts invisible and not others, although those parts are all animated parts! However, all is well now. Good call Mikenor. Thankyou and thanks also to Darryl. You were also right about the mention of recent addons. I hope this little story helps someone else!
:)
