Greetings,
Lukas

Greetings,
Lukas

Would you be running VIsta or Windows 7 by any chance? BUG if you are.

Edit the scenery.cfg file manually. It is not as hard as people claim it to be. :)

Code:
[Area.xxx]
Title=TITLE HERE
Local=Scenery\FOLDER NAME HERE
Layer=xxx
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

e.g.:

FSX\Scenery\RAF Thorpe Abbotts

in RAF Thorpe Abbotts :

FSX\Scenery\RAF Thorpe Abbotts\scenery
FSX\Scenery\RAF Thorpe Abbotts\texture

Where the xxx are in the above code, enter the next number in sequence.

For the above example the entry would look like:

Code:
[Area.123]
Title=RAF Thorpe Abbotts
Local=Scenery\RAF Thorpe Abbotts
Layer=123
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

Best regards,
Robin.

Happy flyin

Hi Norforce,

IMHO for our first real attempt it's better to keep it as simple as possible since we might already have to face various issues (schedule, networking, FSX whims...). It's also why the flight plan is based on a default airport and was made short enough to miminize the risks of anyone losing the connection, getting bored, or whatever ;).
If the experience proves to be enjoyable then there should be many future occasions to improve it as you propose. You OK with this?

Best Regards,
David

That's what I thought as well ;-) Keep it simple for the first run.

For another run we could go and fly around the area of st. maarten! that has a reaaally nice airport :-)

(oh check this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAfQwDizpRo - can you imagine with 4 b-17's? 8) :twisted: )

OK that's not even close to this but did you try RWY 17 at KOLM, winds calm? Looks like this one might get a little bit nasty for the uncautious one getting a little bit too long... If any of us goes for some little gardening session I will deny any responsability: you're the one who chose this airport ;)

Hi all, I've been wondering about schedules so here is a first proposal waiting for your feedback.

As we have to accommodate three timezones and I couldn't find a solution without any of us flying in the middle of the night I came to two flights:

  • Sunday, May 30th, 08:00 UTC, so that the Europeans brave enough to get up early can fly with Norforce (I will)
  • Sunday, May 30th, 15:00 UTC, so that Hog Driver can join too.

In the second flight and for those who were already there in the morning, we could change the positions in the formation and/or some could fly in their P-47 maybe? (MTFDarkEagle was proposing this in an earlier post)

What's your feeling about this?
David

After 08:00 UTC on sunday the 30th I'm available the entire day.

To Elington: In my earlier post as far as time wise I am freed up to fly starting at 1700 not 1500. I'm sorry for any confusion this may have caused if any. This would appear to be around the 6:00 - 8:00pm time frame in Europe which is where I belive the majority of people are (not positive on this fact). If everybody chooses the 1500 time frame I will still hope to join in a couple of hours later if it is still going even though it sounds like it will only be going on for 1 - 2 hours. In other words don't wait on me, I'm just excited to be apart of this event. By the way if anybody see's me on VATSIM (HC224TE) I am always in a B-17 throwing the ATC guys for a loop

VATSIM Transcript
HOU CTR: 224TE, welcome to Houston please take the DAIS7 arrival and expect Runway 27 for landing.
HC224TE: Thanks and glad to be here, be advised I am not equiped for arrivals.
HOU CTR: 224TE what are you equiped with?
HC224TE: A compass, stop watch, and a thermous of coffee.

The ATC guys are typicaly greatful to see me come in now days because it gives them something new to do. Numerious compliments.

I just had a thought and I'm sure it's a little behind everybody else, but has it been brought up in the P-47 forum that we might be looking for some "escort service". This may be more than what we are willing to bite off and chew at this point but just a thought.

Thanks,
