Group Flight Sunday August 26, Northern France Warbird Tour

Post by ratty »

Bring your favourite A2A warbird and join a tour of northern France and historic WWII sites. See Dunkirk, Dieppe, the Normandy beaches, and the Cherbourg Peninsula.

Meet at Biggin Hill, EGKB, for a takeoff time of 1830 Zulu (1130 Pacific, 1430 Eastern, 1930 BST, 2030 CEST, and 0630 (I think) MONDAY, NZST). Trip distance: 325nm.

For info on how to join and communicate see: https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewto ... 79&t=63659

Looks like a really fun flight! A perfect mission for the Spitfire.

1830 Zulu is 6:30 AM in NZ. (That is the time you always start at my time, if, you are starting at the same time as last week. Are we?)

6:30 AM is perfect for me, as I have plenty of time to fly, and then get ready for school!

I did say "I think". I'm pretty good with respective time zones in the US and Europe; clearly I need to work on my Antipodes.

Yes, it's the same time as usual :D

Great :) It took me a while to figure it out, time zones are confusing. ;)

I'm a bit strapped for time so IF I'm joining I'll do so from LFAC and follow the French coast to Cherbourg.

From today's flight of Misfits!! We had some fun. I lost two aircraft to a bad joystick and one to poor piloting. Started in a 17, CRASHED, switched to a spit and rejoined flight. Controller quit again. Switched to a mustang and the sim crashed, restarted and caught up and finished in the mustang. Fun times!

That had to be the most pilots we've ever had in a Sunday MP flight! I totally enjoyed it!

I sure hope that the A2A P-51 is released for P3D in time for our upcoming A2A Reno Air Races! That would be on September 16, 2018 according to my grandstand ticket for the real thing.

I will try to make one in the next few weeks if I can. The 16th I may be flying a recreation of the Market garden route in by C-47. Jan Kees Blom did a repaint for me in the 303rd TCS markings. I will be working the 17th, so the 16th may be my flight window. I will let you know. Enjoyed how many were along this trip. My largest yet.
