Since I use a throttle quadrant, I remapped my function keys to the 2D panels. But on the Stratocruiser the F2 and F3 keep moving the throttles, even though I've tripple checked they're not mapped to it anymore.
Anyone any idea where this comes from or how to remove this key mapping?

The F2 is the reverse thrust on the B-377, F3 is to take it back to idle and F4 gives you control of your throttles again

Does this mean these keys are hardcoded into this model, or is there an option somewhere where I can modify this? The model is not using the FSX key mapping but seems to have it's own and I't like to use those keys for something else and map reverse thrust to the individual throttles.

The F1/F2/F3 keys are FSX default assignments and are used as such to implement reverse pitch on
the B-377. Several topics here on the subject of reverse pitch reiterate this.

The B-377 code traps the F2 and F3 keys so they can not be altered even by removing the assignments in the
FSX Controls menu.

I was trying to figure out how to get control of my throttles again after coming out of reverse thrust. According to this thread F4 gives you control of your throttles. I did not find this to be the case. I noticed that my throttles would not respond unless I set the parking brake; whether with the mouse in the VC or the keyboard. After the parking brake is set my joystick throttle responds and continues to respond after I take off the parking brake. In a nutshell, I must move my throttles with the parking brake on after coming out of reverse thrust to have Saitek X-52 control of throttle.

P.S. I did not press F4, just the parking brake.

Just thought I would post this in case someone else runs into this.

I have an X-52 and with the method I use I don't get the loss of throttles as long as I follow the plan.

If you haven't tried this, it may be worth a shot.

1. When I think that reverse thrust is going to be needed, I first make sure that my throttle is pulled all the way back to the reverse "step up". By this I mean my physical X-52 throttle. If your throttle isn't calibrated to dead zero, you may want to tap F1. just to make sure she's dead full back.

2. Then apply reverse thrust as needed using F2.

3. Back out of reverse thrust using F3.

4. Important Step! As soon as F3 drops the VC throttles back down off of the step, I immediatly transfer control of the throttles back to my physical throttle by advancing my X52. I can't remember ever having to use F4 to return forward throttle control back to my X52.

I have created the Parking Brake oddity during testing, but found that the only way I could do that was by using reverse thrust in a manner different than the way I am used to using it. I know it does that for some folks, but for the life of me I can't remember how I ever got that problem to work. That's in a little over 1200 hours in the 377.
