First off, new here and I apologize if this was covered. I didn't find it.

I must have the laziest F/E around. I can't get him to do anything. I'd like for him to operate the systems for me, maybe start the thing every once in a while but I can't figure out how to get him to work. I'd love to just sit and fly without running around the cockpit.

Also I don't hear anything in the cabin, loading, dining, screaming (but that's a good thing).
I have COTS, XP, service pack 2.
I have been over the documentation and can't seem to figure out how to get her up and running quickly with the help of my crew.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh and by the way, the B17 works fine, that F/E has his act together.

When you activate the Flight Engineer on the 2D pop-up, do you get any kind of audio acknowledgement, as in "Preparing systems now" etc?
When you first enter the A/C, do you get any audio from the other members of the crew, as in "Morning Captain" etc?
What happens when you select the various passenger loads from the 2D pop-up, any audio played then?
What happens when you select "Cold Start" from the 2D pop-up panel?
If you're waiting for the FE to start the engines, then it'll be a long wait; the FE will not start the engines for you, that is something that you have to do yourself.

Thanks Matt, actually I had none of that, no audio and the 2d pop ups were all messed up. I re installed and everything seems to work well now.

I still have trouble keeping the engines going. I'll have to go over the manuals a few more times.

Make sure you have Engine Automixture turned off in the Realism Settings. 99% of the time, that's the problem.
