Based of a p40 n cu. "Lope's Hope". While not the original "Lope's Hope", Donald S. Lopez, a deputy director of the National Air and Space Museum who had flown P-40s with the American Volunteer Group, who flew the original "Lope's Hope" and scored five kills during World War II.
All though museum version is not the original aircraft.
