Thank Zoolander for the solution :). I'm just the messenger boy.

If you play with the overcalibration values you will get all the brake functionality to work at a certain range, but you won't get 100% brake effort at full pedal.

The thing I don't understand is that if I check the max values for FSUIPC brakes individually and then press both pedals down simultaneously, the reading is the same. That would seem to me to indicate that FSUIPC is seeing the brakes as max in either case. That's what makes me wonder if it is an issue with Accusim rather than the pedals, FSUIPC or FSX.

It probably is a characteristic of how acusim sees and translates the brake values.

Maybe Scott will see this thread?

I have both CH and Saitek pedals.
I always have them mapped through FSX and have no issues with any A2A aircraft, and I have them all.

I'll check this out later, but with A2A planes I "think" I have to reverse the axis on an "aircraft specific" basis on the calibration screen in FSUIPC. I'll edit this post later when I check :)

Found I needed the reverse box ticked as I suspected, but on full depression on the brake pedals my brakes too released.

Yes you do have to reverse the axis, but it does not solve the braking issue for me. It also happens with the P-47. I haven't noticed it in the cub, but that's probably because the plane is so light that decreased braking isn't so apparent.

Guys, your solution is to edit FSUIPC.ini:

BrakeReleaseThreshold = 75 have to be set to 0 (zero)

Disadvantage is, that parking brake release does not work anymore...

Please explain what this does to help.

Hi

I had the same issue with the P-40's brakes, or rather my Saitek pedals, and the way I have them set-up is through a registered copy of FSUIPC and when you have assigned your left and right brake pedals you can then use the From To section to the right to set a very small zone at the very end of the pedal travel and with a check mark in the Down box you then select the FSX Brake command in the Control Sent When Range Entered drop down menu with an added check mark in the Control To Repeat While In Range box.

Just as an added thought, if you don’t reset the small zone after assigning say the left pedal first then the values for the zone you created will still be there when you come to assign the zone for the other pedal, it just keeps thing neat it's not really that important.

Worked like a charm. Now I don't need the overcalibration in FSUIPC to get the brakes bug free.

You should really make a new post and see if scott can sticky it.

Thank you guenseli and thanks to Pete Dowson for his excellent support of FSUIPC.

Works lovely. Just put the P-40 into a short strip and had no problems bringing her to a nice controlled stop.

I want to add my thanks as well. Although the parking brake thing is a little annoying, it's worth it to be able to stop using both brakes.

TBH, I'm not aware of any RW aircraft that use the pedals to disconnect the parking brake anyway. So, even though this modification does create an FSX limitation, it brings it closer to reality.
