Hey,
I am wondering if such an idea would be demanded by simmers, hardcore simmers.
Basically, an add-on that monitors and interacts with the airplane you fly by failing and damaging components depends on pilot performance or mishandling.
Say you run engines too hot, according to the right parameters and amount of damage due to overheating and other factors, the addon would actually fail the engine and prevent it from restarting unless if it is restartable depending on type of failure.
Failures that aren't random, but triggered by bad piloting and pushing too far.
any luck for that to happen?

Welcome to the forum.
That is exactly what accusim does.
Do you have any accusim products?
If not I suggest you start with the C172 or cherokee 180.
Have a look on youtube at product

To make sure it is clear, they are talking about Accu-SIM and not Accu-Feel (which is a nice addon in of itself).
A2A has produced the best FSX add-on aircraft in the 172 and Cherokee. I hear lots of good things about their other accu-sim aircraft but I don't own these myself.
These Accu-Sim aircraft do exactly what you ask and more including having the most realistic flight models I have ever used in FSX.

To add to this, one could say that Accufeel is a taste of Accusim [actually quite a decent taste] designed primarily for people in the sim community who might not own an Accusim aircraft [the absolute pinnacle for flight simulation in my opinion] but do own aircraft they would like to have performing more accurately and more true to life in the simulator.Oracle427 wrote:To make sure it is clear, they are talking about Accu-SIM and not Accu-Feel (which is a nice addon in of itself).

Accufeel has been called Accusim Light, a name that constitutes a very good description of the program.

Yes, thank you. I already have C172, the Cherokee and Accu-Feel.
However, what I am looking for is an addon that fails instruments due to pilot performance or other factors like icing.

Re: Add-on idea - Dynamic failure system
Hello,
The only way to do this would be to use the default damage system which we don't use for our Accu-sim products as its too generic or in some places not correct or missing important factors. This was part of why the Accu-sim
Simulation engine was created. Out of our need and want to progress and create something we all felt was missing from the at the time eye candy centric simulation world.
Thanks,
Lewis
