Don't sink! Don't sink!

Post by Hook »

I was just reading the Accu-Feel manual and ran across this:
Water physics including dynamic wave size and speed, adds immersion for those who love to land on the water
The first thing I thought of was Betty announcing, "Don't sink! Don't sink!"

Hehe. :D

lol its for the water craft, esp in FSX where you can finally get some simulated waves etc

thanks,

Thanks, Lewis. I know. :) I saw the full effect for the first time recently when I landed the Goose on the water near a small Caribbean island and was surprised to encounter waves of a size appropriate for the 18 knot wind. I'd never seen that before.

I used to have to manually calculate the wave size for varying winds in a sailing simulator and got used to what waves should look like at different wind speeds as well as how they were formed and how various conditions affected them. I didn't check to see if the island cast a wave shadow but was otherwise impressed at what A2A had done.

This was just one of those cases where immersion was not necessarily a good thing. :D
