Re: P51D - 'tally ho! pip pip!'
Holy Thread resurection, Batman!
I must say, this is my FAVORITE mustang. I love it. Nice work.
Oh, what does "Pip-Pip and Tally Ho!" mean? I get the Tally ho, but I have never heard of PIP PIP. Google said it had something to do with horses and hunting. Which is perfect! Because the wife and I own a quarter horse, and the mustang is my favorite plane!

Tally Ho was an English fox hunting shout when the fox was scented and the chase began.
It was adapted by British fighter pilots when the enemy were spotted the wing leader would shout bandits 8oclockTally ho and the aircraft would peel off and follow him..
Pip Pip was another English expression slang used in various situation but mostly added to a greeting.
Toodleoo pip pip was goodbye. What ho pip pip was hello, bang on pip pip was jolly good
I am showing my age I'm afraid anyhow you asked. You know they say of the American and British. Two countries divided by a common language.
If I go to a restaurant I ask for the Bill and pay by cheque. You ask for the check and pay by bill.
Regards Chris

Re: P51D - 'tally ho! pip pip!'
Jolly good post Chris. I was just going to say "Pip pip? "
I was tickled the other night on Teamspeak by an American who stated "We're going to land in the A-zores" Fortunately, he could see the funny side.
BTW, Nice paint. I'm not big on fictionals but Tally Ho! is an exception.
