New fresh and shining Big Beautiful Doll Civilian WIP

Post by oyvjohns »

Hi.
After the Civistang got out, i started to take a look at the old BBD paint i made for the Mil model.
I wanted a new and fresh paint to this awsome civilian release.
Due to way to much work lately, i started a litle cooperation with mr Musicman.
As we all have seen, the paints he does looks absolutely stunning.
Its not quite finnished yet, but here comes a couple of WIP shots.

Musicman has done a great job to "shining" up this paint, and now its just a few minour errors that needs to be fixed.
This time im not gonna release the paint until im satisfied with the result.
Want to make this paint as good as i can, so hopefully you will like it?

What do you think of the work so far from the United Painters Musicman and Oyvjohns?? :D

She is unbelievable! All I can say is that I absolutely love the work you guys do, and I'm sure that I speak for many people when I say "thank you!" for all of the time and effort that folks such as yourselves put into recreating these repaints. I often enjoy applying and admiring repaints as much as just plain flying these aircraft. It's a whole experience in itself for FSX. Anyways, I'll definitely be adding this one to my ever growing list of skins for the P-51D when it becomes available. Great work!

Looks great. :) One thing I've noticed about a lot of these shiny paints, though, is that the actual painted parts look more like tinted chrome than paint compared to actual pictures and I have a theory that it has to do with the reflect map covering the whole plane rather than just the bare aluminum bits, thoughts?

Wow, what a gorgeous job! After a long search for the "checkered" version came up empty, I actually have an unfinished version I made 3 weeks or so ago just before the release of the civie mustang. It is not near as detailed or shiny as yours, great jobl! I don't wanna post screens of mine here in fear it could be confused with your beautiful work, but I did post a few on the A2A facebook page on the day of the release of the civilian version...this just means I start work on my next project., P-51D Feagen fighters' "Sweet Revenge"...But here are some pics of the real BBD. Again awesome job and I can't wait to add a more perfect her to the hanger!!
