Arguably the finest fighter aircraft of World War II.

Thanks guys for your kind words.

Today I wanted to put all of the components together to check their fit and and decide the order of the next steps. Some of the details are not clear due to all of the black paint. Hopefully when the interior is painted, if it will stop raining and get below 90% humidity, the components will be more visible.

Thanks for looking.
Ed

That's looks so awesome! I've never sat in a real P-51 unfortunately but that looks like it's extremely close to the real thing!

Great work

Really is nice to see all those finely crafted bits in their proper place and perspective. The end result is going to be something truly immersive! Have you got your A-11 helmet, and A-14 O2 mask sourced yet? You're going to need them pretty soon!

Thanks guys

Jacques I don't have a helmet yet but could use one during the build. My shop is small and working on the sim I have gathered scratches and bruises on some interesting body parts. My hair is not as thick as it once was and a helmet would have saved even more hair loss!

Take care

I hope everyone is well.

Not much to show for my shop time today. Most of the time was spent adjusting the fit of the sides and windshield to the main unit. However I did test fit the selector dimmer controls and dash lights. Also, my oxygen hose arrived and it fits the O2 regulator just fine.

Thanks for looking.

Hello everyone

I got tired of waiting for the Florida winds to drop to a level where I could spray paint the components without getting more paint on me than the sim. So I bought a custom acrylic color and rolled/brushed the paint. Still got some on me but being acrylic it washed off quickly.

Here are the pics.

I saw the first picture Ed and could swear I was looking at metal and not wood. Really nice work! Wait, oxygen hose and no mask? :D

Jacques I'm still working on the mask idea but I am concerned it may interfere with my helmet! :D
