Hi Scott,
since nothing has changed since the last beta version, I cound not verify download speed this time, but everytime in the past, I had changing speeds between 10 - 30 kB/s, which means several hours for bigger packages. I live in southern Germany.

Re: A2A (Accu-Sim) Update 07/15/2014 - DOWNLOAD
Hi Scott,
I am currently in Vietnam on business. The updater worked well for me for P51, COTS, and B17. No Cherokee, and I understand it wasn't included in current update.
Unfortunately I did not note the speed, but it did not seem to take any longer than I would expect. The download was not untolerable at all.
One thing that did happen and it was mentioned by another person in this thread, at one point a dialog box that needed my response must have appeared and hid itself behind the status box. Of course the status box did not move from the 30% mark for a very long time and I thought the process stalled. It was only when I killed the process that I realized there was a dialog box requiring input from me to continue. I don't know if you can programatically put this at the top of the Z-order or not.
The whole buried dialog box could have been because I was doing other things simultaneous to updating the A2A stuff. So take it with a grain of salt.

Hello,
My FSX computer is only offline, what should I do in order to benefit updates with the new system?

Re: A2A (Accu-Sim) Update 07/15/2014 - DOWNLOAD
Worked beautifully, very fast D/L for me, told me all files were up to date on all installed A2A planes but the 172 and even the fact that I don't own either model of the B377.
Maybe this has been already mentioned or known: I installed ASN about a week ago and whenever a core update happens it overwrites some of the updated A2A plane(s) files so the ASN weather map (if you use it) needs to be reinstalled. Easy enough to do in ASN's TOOLS GUI the listing of planes showed the map installed in all of my A2A planes except the C172. Check the box, push the button. Easy!
Now to see what's going on with that trim update and what happens with my Saitek trim wheel.

Re: A2A (Accu-Sim) Update 07/15/2014 - DOWNLOAD
Thank you for a great update. This will fit me great, this new update system.
I also live in Norway, but have the opposite experience. It downloaded fast and with no up and downs. What made my download took a little longer than some few seconds was that I took time to watch the lovely pictures of the aircrafts. So this has not so much to do where Your locatation is, at least not for persons living in places where you have Broadband conections. If I use me self as an example, so do I get the download speed I pay for. I pay for 100 Mbps(megabite per second) in download speed and 5 Mbps in upload speed, it means that a normal film on 1.5 G takes some few minutes to download, before I had a much slower(and not so expensive) Broadband and the same size of download took 2-3 hours. So I get the speed I pay for, and I guess it is the same for most other persons.oyvjohns wrote: Sorry to say that i also have wery slow download speed here in Norway.

I might need to clarify my comments on downlaod speed. When talking about those speeds I do not mean the download speed for the updater, but rather the download speed during update of the C172 from V2.0 to V2.02. This part requires a download of more than 100 mB (around 120 IIRC) on each application of the updater in my three different installs, during which I saw the fluctuating download rates.

Charlie,
Just try re-installing the Accu-Sim pack for your P-40, then run the updater again.
Scott.

Thank you very much Scott. This worked like a dream, and I enjoyed seeing the installer detect each aircraft and provide instant feedback on the state of the current installation. I own all of your aircraft except the Strato, so this saves me a ton of time and worries. Thanks for all your hard work.

The updater worked well for me. Downloaded fast, I'm in Texas, USA. Found all A2A birds. I had no problems with hidden dialog boxes. Interesting, I seemed to have missed some B-17 updates (haven't flown her is a long time ). The updater saw that and updated her.
