wont stay running

Post by Smoothice »

So..I get the mustang started the way I am supposed to. It fires up and stsys at a nice 1000 rpm. After a few minutes..the oil pressure still hasn't come up..and then it sputters and dies..then I can't get it to stay running

Does it have oil in it?

Go to the maintenance hangar (Shift-7), do a complete overhaul (assuming your engine is damaged due to no oil), then start it up and maintain 1000RPMs as it warms up.

Yeah, sometimes it seems you'll encounter a bug/feature where a new aircraft will be delivered with no oil in the sump. Double check your fluids and payload report (Shift+4) and check the oil level; make sure it's topped off. Running the engine with no oil pressure will shred it in short order, and you can bet a complete overhaul will be necessary to get it running again. In the future be sure to shut her down immediately if that oil pressure doesn't start rising in a few seconds.

Always check the basics before start up, so make sure shes flyable before trying to fly her via the maint hanger and payload panels.

thanks,
