P-51 Radiator Change

Post by shipdriver »

I took these with my cell phone yesterday (Tuesday mornings can be slow at FHC).

"Upupa Epops" just got a new radiator. :)

There is some hangar remodeling going on as well, which makes Hangar 2 pretty chilly!

Very nice, please do share any snaps you can take, I assume from the post that you work/volunteer at the FHC?

thanks,

Thanks and yes, I'm a docent there. I'm usually "on duty" a couple of times a week.

Great pictures Rob! That place is probably the highest on my list of warbird collections I want to visit that I have yet to. I think it is pretty neat that even while the aircraft are undergoing annuals and parts changes, they are kept on public display.

Looking forward to when the Me-262 and P-38 arrive!

They have a great social aspect too, with a nice facebook presence for example, regular posting there and other interesting images, videos etc of interest to all aviation geeks.

Cheers,
Lewis

Outstanding pics! I see some other pretty neat old warbirds in the hanger as well.

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down!

That is "Tallahassee Lassie" getting buttoned back up after her FAA annual inspection. That plane is special when the panels are off because you can see the air induction and exhaust piping going back to the turbo and the charge air piping going up to the carb, among other things.
