Since I have upgraded to the latest accu-sim version, I have not been able to start my P51 from cold and dark. The only way I can fly it is from auto-start. I turn on battery, generator, fuel on, magnetos on, mixture to full rich, fuel pump on, hit starter, engine just cranks but does not fire.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Mustang won't start after upgrade to latest accu-sim
The one thing I've noticed after the last update with the Mustang is that you have to be a lot more exact with priming. It is a lot easier to flood the engine now. So cold I go 4s exactly (I look at the clock in the cockpit).
This is how I start the engine:
1. Fuel on and tank selector on fullest tank (or left tank if all are full)
2. Battery and alternator on
3. Fuel boost pump on /wait till fuel pressure is build up (that takes longer too now)
4. Prime for four seconds exactly when cold
5. Crack throttle open
6. Hit the starter and count six propellor blades passing
7. Magnetos to both
8. When the engine fires move the mixture to rich
this is following the checklist pretty closely and it works like a charm for me.

I started with throttle forward about an inch then tried to give more...no dice.

Even tried with GPU attached.
I will try again , watching fuel pressure and counting priming. I was turning on magnetos first, before starting; is this incorrect?

Re: Mustang won't start after upgrade to latest accu-sim
Still no luck getting cold start. I wonder if there is a file I didn't delete when i went to re-install.?? Also, when I do fly with auto start, I get a vicious left aileron roll to the left at lift off. Aileron trim is set to 0, 6 degrees right rudder trim. Almost uncontrollable at lift-off. Strange behavior that I never had in the years before.
Hope you all can offer some help.
Thanks.

I just flew on auto-start...landed and shut her down. waited a few minutes and tried to restart...she fired up ok. Not sure what is happening with Cold and Dark start.

If you are cranking and she just won't fire, the engine is probably flooded. Just put the throttle all the way fwd while motoring till it fires then reset throttle - is the standard way to start a flooded engine.

Re: Mustang won't start after upgrade to latest accu-sim
One question regarding the reinstall. Did you delete the update before reinstalling and reapplying it? If not you should go to your flightsim root folder --> A2A --> P51Mustang --> update_fsx
In that update_fsx delete the file called client.wyc. After you have deleted that file rerun the updater.
Also what is the ambient temperature when you do a Cold&Dark start?
Finally to the magnetos. I don't know if it is wrong to have the magnetos on when turning the starter on but the checklist says to count six blades and then put the magnetos to both.

Just to check you have the P-51 + The Accu-sim pack for the P-51 and are then applying the latest Accu-sim updater?

Did you try to rerun the updater or have you already done that?
