A2A Simulations Biggest Ever Giveaway At Flight Angels 2016

Post by Janerachel »

A huge thank you to Lewis, Scott and the entire team at A2A for their fabulous support. I am so excited by the Tuskegee flying part of our event... Please refer to the press release below.

It is with the greatest of pleasure that we can announce that the superlative team at A2A Simulations have joined us as a partner in Flight Angels 2016, the charity aviation online telethon of the decade.

The company have also announced their biggest ever giveaway over the charity weekend. A lucky bidder at the event can walk away with the entire A2A catalogue of aircraft and products, be it Accu-Sim, Wings of Power or Aircraft Factory releases. “It is our largest charity giveaway in the history of A2A Simulations” enthused Lewis Bloomfield of A2A, “and all for such a fabulous cause to help seriously ill and disadvantaged children. It is the first time we have ever offered our entire catalogue as a single prize to one winner!”
If you don’t win the star prize of the entire catalogue of releases, fear not, as the company have also made available scores of copies of each of their aircraft that can be bidded on individually. “We are also making all of our product line available to bidders on the weekend, which will be perfect for the Tuskegee Tribute part of the event!” added Lewis

On the Saturday evening of the event and sponsored by A2A, there will be a very special simulation fly-in where people are invited to fly a P-40 or P-51 Mustang aircraft flying to Tuskegee Airfield as a very special salute for the brave Tuskegee airmen of World War 2. Both of the aircraft are, of course, part of the A2A stable of products.

The Tuskegee Tribute flight will also be attended by the real Tuskegee airmen, including Colonel George Hardy, who flew over 21 escort and strafing missions during World War 2, flying his Mustang in close combat. Colonel Hardy retired after also seeing combat in the Korean and Vietnamese wars with the Flying Cross with Valor, the Air Medal with 11 oak leaf clusters and the Commendation Medal.

We are so delighted to sponsor the Tuskegee Tribute flight using A2A aircraft”, says Lewis, “and thrilled to have Tuskegee veterans and Colonel Hardy as guests on our live stream to share their memories with us all. What an incredible opportunity to meet the real heroes of aviation”

Flight Angels 2016 takes place on Friday 16th September for a full 24 hour live stream from midnight UK Time (4PM US Pacific Time) for a full 24 hours of flying, special events, celebrity guest interviews, prizes and so much more in the largest charity simulation event ever! Join us and donate to the children at www.flight-angels.com

(incidentally, we also have Col Doug Champagne, America's most decorated serving fighter pilot at the event demonstrating the F-16 live and chatting with everyone about his stories. Both he and Col Hardy will be in a hosted discussion talking about the role of the fighter pilot sharing their stories together. I am so excited by that! - Doug flew the F-16 intercepts of Flight 93 and escort of Airforce 1 on 9/11 and has flown both the F-16 and A-10 in Iraq (both Gulf Wars and Battle of Fallujah) and Afghanistan and many other campaigns! He took over responsibility for and flew the first ever combat air patrol in US airspace after 9/11 and organised all the fighter cover around the USA! It is going to be fascinating to have both Colonels talking together about their experiences as fighter pilots!

thank you again to everyone at A2A, you guys are the true stars and gentlemen of simulation!

Thanks Jane, we are super happy and proud to be a part of this event and not alone as the entire Flight sim industry and more comes together to offer some great prizes in order to help raise money for a great cause.

I can only recommend every one of our customers and fans put a little time aside to watch some of the stream, its sure to be super entertaining, and a very rare once in a lifetime event to hear some of the interviews and content lined up from aviators and aviation insiders such as Colonel George Hardy and Col Doug Champagne.

And of course every little donation helps the charities and the children they help!

thanks,
Lewis

I'm guessing FSHost for the group flights? I looked but didn't find information on how that was going to work.

Is there an info page I missed?

Thanks, and thanks to all for doing this!

Currently watching the stream - Froogle's landing at the end of his hour-long slot was fun. The first A2A giveaway is coming up. But I'm off to bed and will pick it up again tomorrow.

Great stream so far, go watch and donate people! :)

Well - I may be getting a bit old for all this, but I've scoured the Angels' site and can find no way of buying any of the products (from any of the developers) where my sale will go towards the charity.

I'll make a separate/standalone donation in any case, but I wanted to [also] buy some product or other.

Adam.

Hi Adam,
Only some developers have specials from their site. Aerosoft is one and the other one I know is Turbulent Designs Angwin: http://www.turbulentdesigns.co.uk

No other sales on any other devs site, I checked A2A and Orbx, nothing there.

Otherwise, the devs have donated to the Flight Angel so during the stream there are giveaways. They had a few auctions during the streams too. I've seen several of those. The A2A auction has not yet happened, that one is going to draw big bucks because it is apparently the entire A2A library. :o
Hope this helps. Been watching now for the last 6 hours 21 minutes.

Wow!!!!

Thanks for the pointers. I did find the A/S and Turbulent links after my original post. Will probably buy Angwin-Parrett Field and the A/S F-16 (which I hope to shoe-horn it into P3D)!

Just donated a few euros, also bought Turbulent designs 2O3 Angwin-Parrett Field which is a steal at the current price-point. I also heard that the A2A stream is supposed to be on from 5 p.m UK time, see ya there!

So how much did the A2A collection go for ? I wasn't awake during the auction, not sure which youtube video it was on. If anyone knows that would be great.

I think the A2A package went for $225. I couldn't figure out how you were supposed to bid on it...

What ? $225 ??? I would have thought it would have started at 700 at least. My goodness it's worth over $1000 isn't it ? My goodness.

As for bidding you would have had to be on during that particular stream I could not find which stream the bidding was on though. I was watching all streams for 14 hours before I went to bed.

I can't believe it only went for $225, I would have put in a lot more than that !!! My goodness it is for the ENTIRE A2A catalog !
