p51 takeoff/landing video

Post by alan CXA651 »

Hi.
Some people seem to be having problems getting the p51 to stay down centerline on takeoff , so i have done a small demo video on twitch , to show it can be done , i had asn weather giveing real conditions , i was at KBFI boeing field in seattle , takeoff/landing was on runway 13r , wind was 13deg l to r at 6 knts from runway hdg.
This video will be deleted by twitch automatically after so many days , dont have a google account , so cannot send to youtube.

Hi.
Today i did another video of the p51 takeoff/landing , and a bit of a fly around the seattle area , this time i had 75gal drop tanks fitted , so t/o run was a bit longer .

Hi.
Yesterday , and today , i thought i had a ch rudder peddle brake problem , but the cause of the diff brake message when both peddles fully pressed , was a worn right brake , fixed that , message saying brakes when both fully pressed , showed as it should , took the p51 for a spin , only to have a brake message problem again on landing , a quick check by depressing both peddles fully , then lifting one slowly , till message brakes showed , gave me a clue that this time , my left brake was worn , this was confirmed once in the hangar.
