Hello,
My civilian P51D has spent the night under the snow in Russia and everything is frozen. Could you explain how to start it (without automatic) because the carburettor and other liquids are also frozen.
Thank you and good year to all.
I live in Belgium (Europe), retired and used the civilian P51 for years.

Re: P51 civilian refrigerated
Hi.
First change all fluids , put winter oil in in cold conditons , connect GPU , also on the P51 i thought it was fuel injected .
Once fluids are changed , try starting , useing the GPU , so as not to flatten the batt.
regards alan.

Change the oil, new oil goes in at room temperature. If its cold-soaked, probably a good idea to swap out the filter too.BILLY1945 wrote:Hello,

p35 of the Accusim manual gives you clues as to what to watch out for and there are other tips dotted throughout - just use `cold` as a search term and read what you find. Watch the oil pressure closely. Prime is normally about 3-4 secods, you may need a lot more than that. You will need the GPU!
