VIDEO: P-51 handling familiarisation trip over Bologna

Arguably the finest fighter aircraft of World War II.

VIDEO: P-51 handling familiarisation trip over Bologna

Post by Dreamsofwings »

One of the nice problems with having an A2A fleet is that you have so many high fidelity aircraft to choose from. One of the challenges is to keep on top of them all!
Ahead of a Bologna to London tour I thought I would take the Mustang up to make sure I wasn't too rusty.

A nice scenic flight, down low, would be from Bologna to Verona and then through the Brenner Pass
on to Innsbruck. I flew that a few weeks ago prior to actually taking that route on the train from
Bologna to Innsbruck IRL.

Yes perfect terrain for that kind of flight. I’ve flown from Venice to Innsbruck in the Mustang and it was a beautiful trip.
For the tour I am following the stops I took on a train journey back in 2011 when the ash cloud that originated in Iceland grounded us and the only way home was an impromptu improvised train route. This means I will be doing first leg to Milan, and then Milan to Zurich, then on to Brussells before the final leg to Gatwick.

Many thanks Lewis! It’s even more chilling when I do a commentary
My problem these days is which aircraft to fly! There is a lot to love about each of them.

I will admit I do like a bit of commentary with my vids, then I can have it on in background like a radio show on the second or third monitor whilst I work 8) 8)

I like doing that too. It’s great to get a better understanding of that they are doing and why etc. 8)
