Hi, first, awesome aircraft, love it, kudos to A2A for a great job on the P-51D.

I have a question regarding the Oil Pressure indications when starting up. I usually start on a recently refurbished, engine rebuilt, all fluids topped-off aircraft (because I usually crash before landing) sorry eh!! So the oil pressure is supposed to shoot up after engine start, but in my case, it stays at the lower red mark, it doesn't increase. Only once have it acted normally, that is, went up very high and then it came down eventually. As I said, it has enough oil and the engine is like new.

What am I doing wrong or not doing correctly?

Thanks for your help on this,

You may be doing nothing wrong, actually. I flew from Reno/Stead last night during the fireside chat that Scott and myself attended. The ambient temperature was 33C, so the oil was plenty warm. Upon starting I found that the oil temperature was quite nice, and all of my temperatures were where they needed to be.

Thanks, Cody, then I guess I'm going to keep abusing this fine aircraft until I can fly it correctly!!!!

Cuco - I reported a similar problem here - http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=29969. I narrowed my problem down to the way I started up FSX coming into the default Baron, leaving the Baron's engines running, then changing to the P51. Engine runs for a few seconds then shuts down as the P51 is first loaded. Then when I start the P51, I see the oil pressure as you describe.

The solution I finally figured out was to shut down the Baron's engines BEFORE loading the P51. Now I see the initial high oil pressure when starting up the P51.

Or you could press the Cold & Dark button twice. That seems to reset all the temperatures on my end.

Tried that but it did not work for me - i.e. same low oil pressure. Did you try the scenario I mentioned - switching to the P51 from a running default aircraft?

Ok, Haroldeh, I'm starting the P-51 from a "Complex Aircraft Start-up" situation found in a Mustang Forum (C525 not P-51). Will try to shut down the engine, then load the P-51 and see what happens! Jigsaw, will try your double c&d also.

Thanks,

Haroldeh, tried your suggestion, shutting down the engine of my start-up situation, then loading the P-51 and the oil pressure works as it should be, thanks one more time, Haroldeh, appreciate your help!!
