old pain starting up the civilian P-51 Mustang

Post by ricky1088 »

Hello
Pls help me. End of the road here. :D
For the past many days ,I been trying all my best to manual and auto start my
civilian P-51 Mustang and the answer is no no no.. and this is really stressful .
I had follow a few tutorials from the nets to the last letter but this ladies is giving me the cold shoulder.
take airs here , that also keep me wondering has my install gone south.
This is my install order for the P-51 mustang
1. wop3_p51_civ.zip from the flightsim store Order No:#FSS0278157
2. wop3_p51_accusim.zip
3. A2A_Update-10_12_17.zip from the A2A site

i did'nt install the previous accusim_core_update_v1.6.EXE.
Could this be the caused of her refuses to start.

regards.
ricky

Hello,

the install looks fine. However can you give us better information about what the issue is.

Does she start using auto start under the shift + 3 menu?

thanks,
Lewis

Hi Lewis,
Thanks for quick reply.
yes, using shift +3 auto start .it crank awhile, throttle was set at 10% then it went quiet.
next i proceed on to the compression test page, all the tabs were showing green, it mean things are in working order
however it is not going to start even with the auto start. weird..
I am using chaseplane but i don't think the software is the cause of it as it have always been doing fine with my other software like ops, rax weather engine.
Thanks again for good and prompt support

Hello Ricky,

hows the fuel in the aircraft?

Also how are you loading the aircraft flight into FSX?

thanks,
Lewis

Make sure that "automixture" is not checkmarked in your FSX realism settings. Begin your FSX session by loading a default aircraft first. Next, load your P-51. Do a complete overhaul in the maintenance hangar, just to be sure you have a fully healthy airplane for your first startup. Check the fuel levels. Use the A2A panel's auto start option for your first startup -- it is essentially bullet-proof if the sim is configured correctly. Run the engine to get your temperatures up, then properly shut down the plane. You should now be able to restart it easily using a manual procedure.

Hi Skycat
Your instruction has helped and the P-51 civilian is now all up and running. Oh .. it's been a long long time
i didn't get to hear the aircraft sound, you make it happens. It's really wonderful.
Thanks for the BIG help Bro and Lewis as well for your quick response. :D :D

Must confess i've the same problem, i can not get my P-51D started any more from cold and dark.

- Autostart via A2A menu works
- In above mentioned scenerio it works

- Cold and dark via A2A menu en then following the checklist: does not work. Prop turns yet the engine will not fire/start

What am i doing wrong or forgetting?

Cheers,

Marcel
BTW: Cold and dark start with my T-6 and Spitfire does work. (all in FSX)

Yes, that's what i mean with my first line

The only time i can not get the engine started, when pressing the "cold and dark state" (SHIFT+3) and then follow the checklist (SHIFT+2) to the letter.
Auto-mixture is unchecked, as in mentioned before and in the manual.

I’m afraid that is good news.....then it must be a problem with the way you are trying to start the engine
For how longtime do you prime? And what ambient temperature du you have?
Do you have fuel pressure before priming?
Kind Regards

Was afraid of that answer

Prime = 4 seconds
Ambient Temp = 15 deg
Fuel pres = 18 PSI

Check :

Carburator air : on
Mixture : idle cut-off
Fuel cut-off : on
Throtlle : 10/15 %
Tank selector : selected tank with fuel… (I know but I tried to start on an empty tank and it does not work well…)

If engine cold, crank the engine and count 6 blades before engaging magnetos.
When the engine starts coughing, help by priming once more. Once started, mixture on "Run".
