Judging by that image of the A2A C172 model, they (A2A) are much further ahead with development than the sparse RAS "Coming Soon" information, with no picture, would indicate about their (RAS) version!

Plus with Accusim - No Contest!

Realair was developing highly accurate C172 flightmodel back in the days (FS2004) for professional training purposes.
They will get there, I'm sure. Wouldn't surprise me if they already teamed up with A2A 8)

If they had already teamed up, why release the same aircraft type, one with Accusim and the other without? Sounds like commercial madness for the "partner" without the Accusim!

lol Bruce, that is a hilarious thing to visualize. :)

Keep in mind, when you fly an Accu-Sim plane, most of what you are seeing is outside of FSX.

Structural icing is a real danger that pilots must deal with and plan accordingly...especially in small GA craft that lack de-icing equipment. There are some new technologies such as Thermawing that are being implemented on small GAs such as Lancairs, but from what I have read it is quite expensive and unsure if it is actually FAA certified for flight into known icing.

The downside of having a structural icing feature it does limit where you fly, like the real world, so flying around PNW in the winter could be quite challenge.

Ive got to say this would be an AMAZING ADDON to accusim if you could get it done. Doesnt seem to be a huge problem of course I do not do coding or anything like that. I believe it can be done WITH accusim. I dont think it would be an impossibility but then again im not a programmer. Give it a thought Scott!

I agree that would very funny, but i thought i would post that picture just to show it with floats. It would be really nice to fly around YBCS out to green island or the barrier. And i think i would make some attachment to get into it easier.

So once the 172 and Cherokee come out, the F-104 and F-4 will be carefully crafted till release.

Can't be long before Battle of Britain 3 then? :lol: or some other WWII Air Combat Simulator? :mrgreen:

Maybe not... Check Scott's reply to my post on the first page. I suspect we may see more GA/Accusim releases first.

They aren't putting off the fighters. They are doing other things while work continues on them so everyone remains busy and A2A is still making releases and money to support development of the other projects. What they are doing with the jet models is not as simple as most think and I think even A2A underestimated what it would take, so there is a need to keep things moving forward on other fronts.

I suspect it is a bit easier to accusim a Lycoming O-360/related systems than a GE J-79/related systems....not just in complexity, but availability...you can walk in to practically any A&P's hangar and find Lycoming engine parts to measure and record. ;)

Good point on the availability. There are plenty of 104s in museums around the world but very few if any flying. We know how many Cherokees and Skyhawks there are...

Either way, who are we to say what they do in what order? It certainly looks like a useful allocation of resources to me. May not be everyone's taste, but I personally do not care in which order the planes come out. I will definitely get the GAs, and maybe one of the jets who knows. Hell, I have still to get the 51...

I consider this good news. Having read a lot about all the different phenomena that can occur with jets makes it seem daunting enough to properly simulate flameouts and compressor stalls/surges prevalent on older engines, then you add the complexity of afterburners and their potential issues, variable exhaust nozzles, variable stator vanes in the compressor, variable intakes (on the F-4) and that's just the engines! On top of that we have all the various phenomena pertaining to supersonic flight... And given A2A's reputation for doing things the right way I can imagine that there was never a thought to fudge the code just to get it done.

Doesn't mean the dynamics are anywhere near done. Could be using a quick placeholder. A decent flight model for "showing off" can be made im 10 minutes based off a default airplane.
