I was cleaning up old harddisks, and came across a folder with all my old repaints, including a lot from my FS9 days.
So I went looking for everything I could find, and came up with a staggering 1419 repaints....
Now I don't know if I found all of them, I probably missed a few, and I did the odd personal ones, but still...I was a bit surprised at the sheer number.
The oldest was from March 2007, so I have been at it for eight and a half years now...
The first one was actually for the Shockwave WWII fighters P-51D, so I also checked how many paints I did for A2A aircraft....which came to 672, with the P-51 in all its guises as the most popular (about 335).
So I thought I'd gie you a little show of my A2A paints over the years:
The first:
a few more from FS9, the P-47 (47 paints):
(still disappointed A2A won't make us an accusimmed bubbletop..)
and mainly P-51's (260 in all for FS9)
strangely enough, I never painted the Messerschmitt..
and I started on FSX, with the P-47
I found 27 P-40's:
Of the 59 B-17's I did, this is still my favorite for the B-17 I think, but for sure the one I put most work in:
I painted 18 cubs:
29 spitfires (and one underway):
so far 17 Comanches:
28 Cessna 172's:
12 Cherokees:
2 Heinkel He-219's
and 21 Corsairs
ah, and 74 accusimmed P-51's:
not bad for a few years work...
How about you? How many of you are using my paints? The pics above show some of my favorites, some because I like the way the look, more often because of the story behind it, and in some cases because of the amount of work that was involved in creating it. I like my warbirds dirty and used (see for instance the Corsair or the Mustangs above, but making them used quite often takes more time than the actual paint...
So which ones are you using? What are your favorites, and why? I would love to know..
How many repaints???

Re: How many repaints???
Like the above too many to choose from to be honest, esp with the P-51's Jankees but that's a top notch number and I hope you carry on producing, it makes for quiet a nice portfolio!
For B-17's though I love the half olive drab, half bare metal repaint, cant remember if it was named at the moment but I love the cut and shut combat damage so put two together look.
The P-40 NAN that you show is one of my fav P-40 liveries.
thanks,
Lewis

Re: How many repaints???
I use many of your paints Jankees. Most with the Accusim B17 and 51. I like the war weary look. And historically accurate.

Re: How many repaints???
Myth has it they come from the south East UK, live on an evening diet of cheap Lidl red wine and as Jones from Dads army would say, when it comes to Chimneys, "they dont like it up 'em!"

there I am, with my cellar full of my favorite French and Italian wines (mainly Burgundy, Rhone, Tuscany and Valtellina), having to deal with people who buy their wine at aldi (what's that anyway?)......

Re: How many repaints???
Its a place that stereotypical Poor people shopped in the UK, at least that was the common public image, then the recession hit and a lot of people shopped there and after a very very very short amount of time everyone released that its actually a good shop, cheap and often filled with stuff you cant get many other places, including some cracking frozen pizzas that certain guys can easily pop in the oven when the mrs is out on an evening and between wiping poo up from a 1 year old and trying to calm an overactive 3 year old who's new hobby is 'spinning around like a looney' cannot otherwise find the time to actually cook
Lidl is better though imo, as they are over here in the UK essentially identical BUT have a proper bake section with fresh baked things from in store including one of the best veg pizza's ive ever had and that includes my time in Italy. For a budget super market thats a damn fine record in my books!

Re: How many repaints???
I used to be one of those 'Supermarket snobs' that would never go so down market. But both Lidl and Aldi have good stuff at good prices. We don't do our main shop there though. We're very selective. Aldi actually have some excellent wines without paying BS wine snob prices for. So there!
Note to self: Must try their pizzas.
+1 on the Lidl bakery. Love the cheese rolls.
Cracking hijack of a thread, eh Lewis?
