RNZAF Repaints?

Post by Corsair015 »

I have been looking for repaints for NZ2415, one of the current flying Mustangs here in New Zealand (although, any RNZAF skins would do).

Has anybody made one of these?

Thanks

I did NZ2408 a while ago. Here if you're interested.

Cheers.

Sweet, thanks!

And, ummm, how do you install this? I am new to adding textures to aircraft (although I know my way around the files pretty well)

First, download the A2A_P51D_NZ2408.7z file and extract it to your desktop. I just noticed the thumbnail was missing (how did I miss that :o ) so do it again if you already did. To extract the files you will need something like 7-Zip. Just download and install the free 32 or 64 bit version. Whichever is appropriate for your system.

Then, place the texture folder texture.NZ2408 into the folder FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\WoP3_P51D_civ

Open the aircraft.cfg file in WoP3_P51D_civ and copy and paste the following into it, after the last texture entry. If this is your first add-on for the P-51 Civ, the last entry should be [fltsim.2] for MoonBeam.

[fltsim.x]
title=P-51D civ 'NZ2408'
sim=p51d
model=civ
panel=
sound=
texture=NZ2408
kb_checklists=P-51D_check
kb_reference=P-51D_ref
atc_id=NZ2408
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_type=North American
atc_model=P51
atc_flight_number=
atc_heavy=0
ui_manufacturer=A2A North American
ui_type=P-51D Mustang Civilian
ui_variation='2 Squadron. RNZAF'
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="A2A Simulations Inc."
description=Mustang, 2 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force.
atc_id_color=0x00000000
atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0
prop_anim_ratio=1.02
visual_damage=0

This is important. Replace the "x" in [fltsim.x] with the next number in sequence, probably with a 3 in this case, to read [fltsim.3]

Save the file and your done.

You'll also find instructions in the 'readme' file included in the download.

Cheers.
Steve.

In that case, use this instead. It should work.

[fltsim.x]
title=P-51D 'NZ2408'
sim=p51d
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=NZ2408
kb_checklists=P-51D_check
kb_reference=P-51D_ref
atc_id=NZ2408
atc_airline=Air Force
atc_type=North American
atc_model=P51
atc_flight_number=
atc_heavy=0
ui_manufacturer=A2A North American
ui_type=P-51D Mustang
ui_variation='2 Squadron. RNZAF'
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop"
ui_createdby="A2A Simulations Inc."
description=Mustang, 2 Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force.
atc_id_color=0x00000000
atc_id_font=Verdana,-11,1,600,0
prop_anim_ratio=1.02
visual_damage=0

Again. Change the x in [fltsim.x] to the next number. Probably 3 again, after 'FF-064'.
