Repaint Request for Johnny Kent's Spitfire

Post by Bruce66 »

This is a polite request for a Johnny Kent Spitfire Repaint. It is very similar to the Douglas Bader one from the images I have found.

I have searched and not found this repaint which suprises me. If it has been done feel free to tell me where to go (like actually where to go to get the repaint that is :D )

Of course I realise this is a Mk V but we can streach this a bit as it looks very like a Mk II with cannons.

Also I dont know if this matters but I am still in the FSX SE dark ages and will likely perish there. No P3D on the horizons for little ol' me!

Hi Bruce.

I thought I'd have a go at this one. It may take me a while but it looks pretty straight forward, apart from the decal, with what looks like a crowned eagle. I'll search around but may have to try my hand at making it myself. I've found some good examples, so I'll see what they look like after resizing.

Hi Bladerunner

The eagle is a Polish eagle as JK was Squad leader for the Polish Squadron.

Here is an example Image

The maple leaf should be straight forward to find and is green.

The rest is pretty standard for the time so I hope not to hard to do.

Thanks for taking this on board!

Looks great on the tarmac. I'll take it up for a fly tomorrow so I can get a good look at it but I will admit I no longer have a good eye for detail - age and a developing stigmatisim make most things look pretty good to me these days!

Thanks so much for making this repaint!

Took her out for a flight this evening from Lydd around Dover and back

Looks amazing and turned this into my current favourite.

The lines from JK's book where he comments on his first kill with this plane (the V of course) came to mind. He used the cannons and was so startled by the noise and vibration that he instantly let go of the button. But the wing of the 109 in his sight just blew off and the plane spun into the ground. Then he realised the power of what he was flying.

Good book, worth the read. Great repaint for a brilliant plane!
