Prem first , Thank You for your help
I've downloaded the file but I'm a little confused as to where to put it or what to do. I'm worried that I'll mess up my current install. If you could just give me the step by step breakdown , I would be forever in your debt.
Thanks Again

Ricardius,

You need to go into the 2dGauges folder and either save the two files (epi_trans.pcx and spitfire_2dGauges.ini) in another folder or rename the old versions (I added Orig to the end of the filenames ie: epi_transOrig.pcx) and then unzip the new files into the 2dGauges folder.

Stickman,

Maybe we should have a proper sticky for updated gauges and things and then perhaps the person who's done the tools could be made responsible for keeping his part updated. Then it won't be the responsibility of just one person and overloading them with work.

I have updated my 2dGauges with the instructions on how to load them in. Added to the zip file (thanks for that one Ricardius). Nice to know we're being kept on our toes.

Prem.

I think we need a Sticky called Modifications by Members,
or some such. Is this a good idea?

Thank You!!! Thank You!!! Thank You!!!
I can now get back to kicking Hermmann"s butt.
One question: The plane on the upper right of the screen, what does that indicate? (pls forgive my ignorance!!!)

If you mean when that when, you press the H key,
and using the FULL 2D Gauges, as Buddye supplied,
then the green Plane figure in the upper right corner is a Damage Indicator.
Your aircraft, if you have not Padlocked another aircraft,
and the Padlocked target aircraft if you padlocked one.

Yes I agree. "Modifications by members", or "members modifications" might be a good idea. It should make it easier for people to find any modifications they want.

Subscriber or subscribers might be a little better than members, we don't want too much hilarity going on here do we? I'm all for people doing as they wish with their members, so long as they don't ram it down other peoples throats.

Mr. Stickman I took the liberty to modify some of your nice 2dgauges to make the combat easier for me. (rookie and a very lousy shooter)

Those gauges works beautifully, except that I can't make them more transparent, (allready change Gauge_Alpha=0),
and the EPI shows the enemy plane pointing allways parallel to my flight path.

I'am also trying to use some of the superb Buddye's 2dgauges to build a nice mix, I'll put them available as soon as I finish.

I thank you very much for your nice work here. And I'm trying to be more helpfull also.

Greetings.

File comment: This is how it looks, the Me109 flying away, but the red pointer in the EPI shows him flying parallel.

The DDS or PCX textures must have the Mask changed to make them more transparent.
Need a paint program to do that.

There is no texture that I know of for the EPI plane position markers. I do not know how to change them, sorry.
I wish they were dots, myself.

Stickman how can I get the gun sight glass clearer, right now I have to look over the cowling and watch tracers to shoot at my target.

I made a clearer one for the ME109. It is in my 109 Cockpit mod.
Which other ones should be clearer. I do not know the exact locations for the sight glass
in the other aircraft, but with some experimenting, I can find them.

Don't know if this was added to your fuel load and rate of burn, but this is from my Luftwaffe Fighter Ace Tactics 1939 - 1945 book,

Range given for the 109E-3 is 412 miles, in a comparisons chart with the 110, Spitfire MkI, and Hurricane MkI.

But the author was kind enough to add:

Range is a purely theoretical figure, given for comparison. What really matters is combat radius, which necessarily includes, take off at full throttle, climb to altitude, combat time at full throttle, and a margin for a delay in landing (A lot of planes circling the field). The effective combat radius of the 109E was 125 miles----less than one third of the stated range.

Hope this helps Stickman, and not just adding to your madness.

Love your gauges Stickman. Really adds, aids and enhances the sim. I find it easier to find homeplate with that nice compass, AND knowing how much fuel left. Thanks!

Thanks, -Zorro-
I made the compass ring from this Spitfire compass photo, Thanks to Dave "funhouse":

ImageImage

Note!
The compass I made will not appear circular with wide screen monitors, no matter what GaugeHeight and GaugeWidth values were tried. Sorry about that.

I used to use my 1920 x 1200 monitor to play BoB2 and keep my (smaller) 1280 x 960 running for all other bits and bobs. But it became remarkably difficult to actually persuade the larger monitor to always run BoB2, it kept starting on the smaller monitor. I tried a bit of swapping about with the different monitor ports but without reaching any specific conclusions. Ended up turning that monitor off to ensure BoB2 always started on the bigger screen.

Then I lent the smaller monitor to Linda for a week or two and when I got it back I didn't bother reconnecting it. It just sits there gathering dust. (!)

I originally bought it just to play Red Baron 3d at it's full screen and full aspect ratio.

I'd be interested in a definitive explanation of how to ensure that when BoB2 is run it starts on a specific monitor (my primary one 1920 x 1200) and it would REALLY be good to put the gauges etc on the other secondary monitor as suggested.

Otherwise I think I might try the rather expensive option of buying another 2 exact similar screens for a triple head rig, dunno if I can afford that (before they disappear from sale...). I'd also be concerned that the three monitors making such an enormous viewing area might require a much much bigger video card...

P.
