Hey everyone. I figured I would chime in on this as this is an issue that I have experienced, and have somewhat of a success in curing. When I first got the Cub I was experiencing issues with the sound cutting out, and if I went to any other menu outside the game (the map, save menu, load flight menu, weather, etc.) immediately upon returning to the game it would just be the ground, and kind of flashing. This was always preceded by though a loss in the accu-sim sounds. Now the thing that I have been playing with, and I haven't had an issue since (knock on wood) is the graphic settings in the game. I went and did the auto gen tree tweak, and I have not had a problem since. I personally attribute this problem to trying to run scenery settings to high, and then you either run out of RAM to load the things you are trying to load. Or it is something with overwhelming the CPU. I am not saying that it isn't the aircraft. Removing a large amount of the autogen tree's though has had a tremendous effect, and I haven't had an issue in 12 flight hours. I just finished a 3.6 hour flight without incident, and I transitioned to the save game screen twice, and messed around with the accu-sim windows. Even ran through and opened the side window/door/actuated the mag switch/turned the radio on and off a few times/and played with the prop. I could not aggrivate it enough to get it to crash again. My system is a Core i7 950 (stock), Asus Pt6 Deluxe V2, 750 watt power supply, Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 1GB, 6GB DDR3 1600, 1 Seagate 7,200RPM 750GB HDD/1 150GB WD 10,000RPM Raptor HDD(FSX only drive). The best thing I can say to replicate it Scott is to crank up your autogen, and then fly around for at least an hour, the first thing you will notice is that the radio stops clicking when you turn it on, and voice dialogue will be disrupted. It is almost like when I used to get OOM on my laptop, but without actually getting the OOM message. Hopefully this will help point you in the right direction. At first I was upset about turning my autogen trees down but now it isn't that big of a deal. At least I can fly the aircraft and actually be able to save it at the other end. I will report back if I have something happen otherwise though.
