Thanks so very much nathan.I am back at my house too.
You did a wonderful job. It's so very difficult to discern her exact looks from those old B&W pictures.
By the way everyone the odd colored frontal wing parts were a later replacement. The Vertical Stabilizer oddly enough was painted yellow like the rudder although she went through several variations in time with the girl not being painted flesh color at an earlier time and not having those vertical and horizontal stripes between the vertical stabilizer and dorsel area and the frame.Nath your Y is now the right size and it looks as close as we have ascertained it from quite a few different photographs many difficult to be certain on details a fault with lack of color film, quality and shots from as many angles as possible.I am quite impressed with what you have done here.If we are wrong here we at least tried our best.Thankfully on this aircraft we did have quite a few photos though.
Again thanks so very much and sorry for any new corrections.
This 463rd B-17 had the unique coloring on the vertical stabilizer.I had never seen that before.

I doubt it,its so close it passes as far as I am concerned even if it is not exact.
We still have a bit of small doubt about minor things that we are not certain of.
If dad were here I bet he would be amazed and say to you "How did you do that"
I remember my cousin doing a Painting of her for my dad back 40 years ago and his painting while close has nothing near the exactness as yours from what you have here.Just take those photos and read the underneath titles reading about the replacement sections and compare what you have here.
Bravo
BTW here is what happened to her according to the 463rd BG Historian who answered my question several years ago.
Here's what I have from the "Fighting 463rd" group history:

"On October 11th, while taking off on a practice gunnery mission, Ship 550 of the 772nd Squadron developed engine trouble. At an altitude of approximately 100 feet, two of its engines caught fire. The pilot attempted to gain altitude and make a landing at Foggia Main. The ship crashed on the highway near the station hospital and burned. Killed in the crash were Lts. Clement Smith, Jewel Hastings and Richard Nautsch. Also Sgts. Herbert Lane, Mark George and Warren Davenport.

The injured were Lts. William Forehand, Paul Fredson and Earl Thompson, and Sgts. Raymond Wojciak, Charles Stella and Armstead Noble."
I showed some new pictures of the accident and the burning ship to Nath.

44-6422 beautiful lass that was part of the 483rd Bomb Group based at Sterparone Airfield, Italy
which crash landed at the Sombor airfield on April 16, 1945
although significantly damaged – was latter repaired by enthusiastic YAF technicians, and after
unsuccesful attempts which were made toward relapse of this machine to their legitimate owners
(Americans were completely unresponsive and uninterested!) it was integrated into the YAF
please, note that soviet red colored Star in USAF Roundales was placed over the usaf star
and the blue circal and white strips were left visabule just like the 438th bg markings on tail
However, the YAF was completely indifferent towards heavy bombers, there for this machine was relegated to the Soviet Air Force in August of 1945.

and is on my site for download (on the b-17 accusim page 2)

Piccadilly Lilly II 351st bs 100th bg is now on my website for download (on the b-17 accusim page 2)
you will notice the nose are is on the right side of the aircraft but is lower and slightly back as well this is because of the gun placement on this side
on the original Piccadilly Lilly 2 the gun placement is near the nose as you can see in the photo image i have posted
the a2a gun placement is in different place so this is the best i can do
