Great shots. One thing I've never been able to find in the sim is the farmers in their fields. Are there any particular areas where we can find 'country-life'? ;)

Try the areas around the primary airfields, Philip. And fly low....

A stronger system will help a lot, yes, so you can see all the details. Have fun.

The best Instant Action mission to see some of this eye candy is the 'scattered bombers, scattered escort' mission in the Intercept category.

It allows you to choose as your target area the West India Dock for a good look at the Docklands and London, or Dover Docks for a look at all the work on the terrain and buildings around Dover and Folkestone.

This is great stuff!

I really covet the TD roadster in the first image.

One question, tho: shouldn't the Tardis be blue?.....

Seriously, these are great improvements in a great sim!

Hi Gents,

back again after a long stint of Arma 2 :) All I can say is what a sim...it keeps getting better and better. Quick question regarding hedges and autogen trees. I see that in one screenshot "spitfire banking and coastal town in background" there seem to be real hedges not just textures. I dont seem to get that. is there any setting that will enable hedge all over the country or is this just specific to so called areas of interest. BTW I have autogen on and object details maxed!

regards thanks for your tips

Oliver

Oliver,

At the very bottom of the bdg.txt file (which is in the Battle of Britain II root folder)
add these lines:

# AutoGen TreeLine stuff (experimental):
TEMP_AGTL_SN[0]=1192
TEMP_AGTL_SN[1]=63
TEMP_AGTL_SN[2]=62

This will add trees along the treeline/hedgerows.

-------------

BTW, I do something else to add trees on the treeline/hedgerows. Put back the old 2D "billboard" trees.

One of the BDG men decided to completely remove the 2D Treelines for v2.10. "Billboards Unacceptable!" he said.
Well.. I liked them, better sub-prime than nothing!. I wanted them back.

So, for you folks that want them back, too, and improve the look of the treelines/hedgerows, here is what you do.

1. In the Battle of Britain II / MASKMAP folder, delete the Treeline.dds file. This is the file that wiped out the old TreeLines.
Back it up if you wish, but I tossed it outa my window... SPLAT!
I do not get any Error messages for doing this. It hurts me not.

In the bdg.txt file, at the very bottom..
are these lines that I currently write & use for v2.10:

# AutoGen stuff (experimental):
ENABLE_AUTO_GEN=ON
TEMP_AG_SN[15,1]=1192
TEMP_AG_SN[15,2]=62

# AutoGen TreeLine stuff (experimental):
TEMP_AGTL_SN[0]=1192
TEMP_AGTL_SN[1]=63
TEMP_AGTL_SN[2]=62

The last set (# AutoGen TreeLine stuff (experimental):)
Basically it places 3D trees out and upon where the TREELINE is mapped at ~ 10 meters apart.

Stickman has summarised this along with a mod.

This is from the 2.11 release text:

=================================================================================================================

How do I enable trees?

There are two places that Trees are enabled (sorry, needs a single setting next time, no doubt).

1) Forests and Treelines

Edit your \Battle of Britain II\bdg.txt file.
Add these lines at the bottom:

ENABLE_AUTO_GEN=ON
TEMP_AG_SN[15,2]=1192
TEMP_AG_SN[15,3]=62
# AutoGen TreeLine stuff (experimental):
TEMP_AGTL_SN[0]=1192
TEMP_AGTL_SN[1]=63
TEMP_AGTL_SN[2]=62
Yes, you need all these lines. Just copy and paste all the section above, or type longhand.
Users with weaker systems should reduce the numbers in bold down to 2 or 1 or 0 (lowest density). This number after the comma is a density setting and runs 0-3, mimimum to maximum.

Glad you're enjoying it Oli.

If you have issues, please post them on the Tech Support Forum. You should not be getting any crashes so let's see what's going on. Thanks.
