It is further down the forum, under FS2004 or FSX IIRC.

I assume you checked fuel and config? ;)

The idea is definitely to fly "by the book" with power settings as described in the doc and menu windows.

Great! I'd still like to know climb perf though. :)

Ahhhh ha! This is the kind of perf I'm looking for:

Engine Flight Calibration Curve

Flight Operation Instruction Card

Specific Engine Flight Chart

Tactical Range Charts

Found at this site: http://www.zenoswarbirdvideos.com/B17STUFF.html

8) 8) 8)

Best regards,
Robin.

Damn nice site you found there! I however can not give you those perf figures, since I dont have them :-P

When are you free to run a test-flight to check which method of power/speed is most usefull?
I still think announcing power setting is most convenient, since its the same for every aircraft, and we are in the same weather. If the leader calls out the power setting, the others can use the same, or give it a little more or less, depending on their own personall speed.

Greetings!

I just found out the parking spaces you quoted in your first post dont "exist": do you have add-on stuff for that airport?

Indeed we got the problem yesterday. I've just tried to disable some entries in my scenery library with no success (MyTrafficX, UTX and PNW but the latter is not negotiable ;)). Actually it was really easy to join on the ground to taxi (only one runway) so I don't think this will be a big problem, especially as we should all have joined the TS server at the time. What do you think?

Best Regards,
David

I think it's best to change to an airport with some more parking-spots, so we can accomodate several planes. I'll go and check for a other airport right now, I'll post my findings. I'll def look in the environment.

I'll be back 8)

Great site Robin thanks. At the moment I'm using the documentation from A2A, both from the Accu-Sim manual and from the standard one ("pilot's manual").
About the climb phase I use this (not climb perfs I know but...):

Quoting A2A Wings of Power II B-17 manual:
Climb at an indicated airspeed of 140 mph IAS (150 mph IAS if on instruments) with a power setting of 38" of manifold
pressure and 2300 rpm. For lower weights use 35" and 2300 RPM. Cowl flaps are normally set to about 1/3 open or less for
climbing. Maximum cylinder head temperature is 218 degrees Celsius. This aircraft was equipped with an automatic mixture
control. Therefore, no mixture adjustment is necessary.

There are detailed tables for cruise on the other hand. By the way I just checked this manual again and I hadn't noticed some very interesting instructions about formation flying in the latest pages.

Best Regards,
David

That was my initial intention but it looks like my FSX config is not reliable for this!

KOLM? That's got enough parking places?

KOLM looks OK no problem.
I'll have a look at an updated flight plan.

KOLM? That's got enough parking places?

Sure, I'll be online, pm me the ip and pw, and I'll be online ;-)

I've got some forum issues, not sure if I can post much more...

--------------------
TS3 server is working properly. I guess IP and pw will be pm-ed to everyone.

Another thing: when I want to post something here I get a message:
"You cannot make another post so soon after your last."... Great... So I cant post anything new, and I'll edit this message, every time I try to post something :-P

Could be good idea, however I have my doubts:
* flightplan is already done, finished and tested, if airport is changed it will have to be done again
* I cant get the airfield to install? I can't seem to add the add-on scenery...

Greetings

Yes I knew the ICAO code (found it on the website), but I cant install it?? You have to add the scenery and textures etc to the library, and I cant get that to work?

Greetings,
Lukas

I had no problems I just install the airport without all the frills had it on the PC for over a week and then 2 nights ago I downloaded the building and stuff and RAF Grimsby v1.0 it worked fine :-( don't know mate but we know what PC's are like

All I did just for the RAF Thorpe Abbotts (Station 139) was

5) Extract the enclosed directories "IJP_X3TA" into your [FSX folder] \Addon Scenery directory.

6) Launch FS, and through the Scenery Library editor, add the directorie "Addon Scenery\IJP_X3TA"
That was it hope this helps

Ron
