This is my first repaint, it is still a WIP, I can not seem to get the code letters to appear sharp enough, if I can not correct this it will stay a WIP.

Any suggestions would be appreciatied.

Well the lettering looks fine in the pic... Looking forward to this one, it's a nice break from the usual camo.

Fido,

I saw you ask Ian to do this repaint for you, and that made me remember this thread. Based on the pictures you are 95% done with it. If you're stuck and need some help, please email me. I'd be happy to help you get it finished. This offer is, of course, a bit selfish, as I'd be one of the first in line to download it. :)

Nice job, if only we had somebody to fight :)

I always found it strange that black was not the best color for night fighters

Hey thanks for the offer, at the moment my gaming PC is not set up, and of course that is where the NF Spitfire files are stored, if I have not deleted them already. Give me a some time and I will PM you a link to my PSD files, again if they still exist. I tried so often to create this plane, if the files are gone I could try one more time and send you the results to play around with.
BTW love your B-17 "I'll Be Around".
@Toonsis
Now even though the aircraft seem to be a uniform shade of black, it is not; the original aircraft had the Night Black, and Extra Dark Sea Grey painted over it's normal day fighter camo, so I did the same.

You did a fine job. What I always found strange was that dark colors were not the best for nightfighters in general

Thanks Fido! No need to send the whole PSD files. I can walk you through the spec colors, and show you a font trick for the lettering over email, if you find them.
If the files are gone, or you just don't want to mess with it, I can just as easily start from scratch. Just PM or email me the codes for the shades of black and grey you want, or a link to them. Like I said before, you had this almost perfect. Don't let it stop you from painting more when you get your machine back running. I think I took 8 attempts at my first B-17 before I got the guts to post it, then revised it at least twice since then.

This one is just about done. As soon as Fido signs off on it, or makes any final suggestions, I'll have it on here to download.

BM533, EB-W, 41 squadron, in night fighter paint scheme. Between Fido and I, I believe this is version 5.0. :roll: We hope you like it.

r4y30n :
Thanks, I couldn't have said it better myself. :D
Lewis:
It was the differences from the norm that made this aircraft's markings something I wanted to see applied to our beloved WOP3 spit.
