The following keyboard trim controls do NOT fuction: Elevator trim, Aileron trim, Rudder trim.

Checked <Options/Controls/ Custom >; <BoB II /KEYBOARD > and found that the 6 trim commands are listed as I entered them.

Yet in [Instant Action/ Basic/Take Off , RAF , Spitfire ]
when I key in : InOut tog F6; to see the rear view of the Spitfire,
I do NOT see the trim tabs move when any of the 6 trim commands are keyed in.

All other commands seem to be working OK .
The <Thrustmaster 16000 > joystick seems to be operating OK
==================================
The above fault continued when I erased BoB II 2.10 completely , reloaded BoB II with the BoB2_update_v2.11

QUESTION:
Please... Any ideas as to how to repair this problem?

Hi falconhawk,

I don't know whether I can help you but I will try.

First of all. As far as I know, no flyable aircraft use the aileron trim. Also, as far as I know all flyable aircraft use the elevator trim. The Spitfire and hurricane also use rudder trim.

What I suggest trying, that is if you haven't already tried it. I would set up your thrustmaster 16,000 so that the buttons you select for your trim controls use the keyboard characters that you have selected as the trim characters. Check that you have the correct character set for the buttons pressed with the thrustmaster test program. Next in Bob II, go into options/controls/custom/keyboard and come down to the control you want to set (example: elevator) and click in the column to the right of the word elevator. It should then ask you to press the key you wish to use. Do not press any keyboard characters but press the button on your joystick which you have set the character you wanted to use. Do this for each control in turn. If you find that in the game wrong functions work. This is usually that two functions are programmed to use the same key.

This is how I programmed my hotas cougar to make sure I got the correct keys set.

Erm do the tabs graphics change as you use them? Mine work alright I've not thought to check to see whether I could actually see the tabs on the outside change as I make adjustments. I just use the cockpit and I see the elevators idicator and feel the difference as I adjust it.

What are you setting them to. I've also noticed with things like autohotkeys or voice activated controls that I've needed to set controls in BoB as both W and SHIFT + W for example due to the autohotkeys or voice activated commands. Also noticed through they keyboards file that there are some commands that cannot be set in the GUI so may be your commands are set to the same keys as these and hence doing these hidden commands rather than the trim?

The trim tabs do not move and are not coded with the capability to move.

Try a simple free flight Instant Action mission. Fly level then press and hold down the Control+End Key. Does the A/C go up?

Then press and hold the Reset Trim key ALT+END key to reset the trim.

Press and hold the Control+Home Key. Does the A/C go down?

YES ! FINALLY YES!
trim controls tested OK

Many Thanks to tipsypo for alerting me to the fact that the cockpit controls indicate
the motion and position of of the elevator trim and the rudder trim controls.
-----------------
Thank you Buddye for having the patience to explain how I can test the trim using
< Instant Action, Landing >
----------------------
The Spitfire responds as expected when ElevTrimUp /ElevTrimDn; RudTrimDn (rudder trim to bank Left) RudTrimUp (rudder trim to bank Right) are operated.

< ResetAllTrim > returns the controls to neutral trim position.

My error was that I thought < Instant Action/Take Off > would show the trim tabs moving when viewing the Spitfire from the rear !
I Learned a lesson: to check all the possible indications before I appeal for help.

No problem, I am new to BoB also although lusted over it an while but just got the machine good enough to buy this recently. I like to fly as the pilots did no no external view using the cockpit just and I've got an Spitfire Mark I pilot notes to try and learn to fly against.

So I was not sure either anyway whether the 3D on the trimming tabs is implemented.
