You would also need one of the A2A planes, the P-47, Spitfire or the B-17.
Most of us fly the AccuSim B-17.
Then, just e-mail David Elington and asked to be put on the flight list (flight
info is sent out in advance of the Saturday flight) David can be reached at:
fsx.elington@orange.fr
There are also about fifty "paints" that are used by various B-17 vPilots, so
those need to be downloaded and installed, as well.
Chas.

Hi all, little preview for today's flight (Saturday December 10th 20:00Z). We'll be heading south from CYXS (Prince George, Canada) to KNUW (Whidbey, Washington State), so 480 nm following the Fraser river valley. Below is a picture taken during a first run in May this year, only this time the flight is part of our worldwide tour and we'll enjoy the winter textures. 4 Spits + 4 P-47s + 1 P-51 expected, if you want to join : fsx.elington@orange.fr

Happy flying :)
David

Generally speaking, our flights are nearly three hours in duration.. The fighters (excepting the P-15) lack the fuel capacity to
make the distance, so refueling stops are necessary.. In some past events, there were NO suitable airports for a fighter to refuel!
And fighters do have to land at an airport, offering refueling services, before continuing.. No "in-flight" refueling allowed.. (or rarely is)..
Other than that, Jugs, Spits, Mustangs (WWII ETO Fighters) are welcome to "Fly Cover", etc.

To further clarify Charles's reply: all A2A aircraft are welcome. Only the Spitfire can have range problems. I've flown the Spitfire since it's release, and only 1 time I came short, which was about 150 meters of the destination airport. The P-40 has too be seen, but I doubt it'll have trouble.

If you would like to join, send David an e-mail (fsx.elington@orange.fr)

Next session this Saturday January 14th, 20:00Z.
To celebrate the new year and the P-40 : take-off at dawn from McChord AFB (KTCM, south of Seattle). Then we'll proceed south to Mont St Helens then east towards the Yellowstone park. Landing at Jackson hole (KJAC, 6450 ft - check your numbers!). OrbX coverage for the whole 620 nm flight 8). Dead reckoning with ground landmarks all along, you can leave your radio equipment at McChord !

Happy flying,
David

Send an email to David for the particulars. The group has been using Hamachi for the sessions via the FSX Gamespy
Direct Connect feature. There is a dedicated Teamspeak server as well.

On each flight David will send out the package containing the flight plan(s) (FSX pln and Plan-G plg files as well ),
links to the paticipants aircraft paints, etc.

When Norforce (Ron) wakes up out there in Oz he will no doubt pay a visit to this thread and can elaborate on this topic :)

I'll jump in for Norforce ;)

We use Hamachi as our connection. Advantage is that we don't have anything to do with gamespy. We virtually fly via "LAN".
There is a specific hamachi "room" which you log into, and you connect to David's Hamachi IP address.

Apart from that, it's all explained well by Paul. You get the flightplan with all required information on thursday/friday/saturday morning (GMT).
If you'd like to join, send David an e-mail.

Ta,
